- 2 tsp Oil

- For Roasting the chana dal, wash 4 tablespoons of chana dal. Soak in water for 15 minutes. After the set time, drain away the water and roast 3 tablespoons of soaked Chana Dal in a tadka pan with few drops of oil. The remaining 1 tablespoon set aside for tempering of the chutney.
- In a mixer, add freshly grated coconut, coriander leaves, ginger, green chillies and salt.
- Next add lemon juice, roasted chana dal and water.

- For Tempering of the Chutney: Heat oil in a tadka pan. Add mustard seeds and allow it to crackle. Add the soaked chana dal and fry until light golden in color.
